How to find your numbers on Instagram

Two minutes in the Instagram app. You need a Professional account (Business or Creator).

The two numbers we ask for

Instagram calls itReach“Accounts reached”: the number of unique accounts that saw the post at least once. Not Views or Impressions.
Instagram calls itEngagement“Interactions” on a post: likes + comments + shares + saves. Report the total that Instagram shows.

Find your best post of a period

Open your profile and tap Professional dashboard, then Insights. Profile → Professional dashboard → Insights

Set the date range at the top. Tap the dates and choose Custom. Q3: 1 Jul → 30 Sep 2026 Year to date: 1 Jan → 30 Sep 2026

Scroll to Content you shared and tap it. You see every post of the period.

Tap the filter and sort by Reach. The first post is your best post by reach. Then sort by Interactions for your best post by engagement.

Open the post and tap View insights. Copy Accounts reached and Interactions into the survey, plus the post link (⋯ → Copy link).

Read one specific post

Open the post on your profile.

Tap View insights under the photo or Reel. Post → View insights

Note Accounts reached and Interactions. On Reels the first screen shows Views: swipe down to Reach.

The periods we compare

Q3 20261 July → 30 SeptemberYour single best post of the quarter
Year to date1 January → 30 SeptemberYour single best post of 2026 so far

Good to know

  • Insights only show posts published while the account was professional, and go back a maximum of 90 days in the dashboard. For posts older than that, open the post itself and tap View insights.
  • Stories count separately. The survey is about feed posts: Reels, carousels and single images.
  • On desktop, Insights are at business.instagram.com → Insights or in Meta Business Suite → Insights → Content.
  • If a number is not available, write “n/a” and tell us why in the comments field.
